After testing Vehicle to Grid technology in collaboration with Endesa and Enel, Nissan has hinted on planning to release in the U.S. a new Leaf model; that would include Vehicle to Grid functionalities, in addition to some self-driving capability. Nissan made the announcement during the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show.
Takao Asami, Nissan senior vice president, sais that the concerns about battery durability are dissapearing. “Before we had the concern about the degradation of the battery — that’s why we had to limit the amount of energy we could pull out of the vehicle,” he told. “But year by year, this durability is being improved.”
